Bartolozzi e Maioli

The Bottega d’Arte Bartolozzi e Maioli was founded in 1938, from the meeting of Fiorenzo Bartolozzi, a Florentine, and Giuseppe Maioli, from Ravenna. In the post-war period, they were chosen for a very important task: the restoration of the choir and sacristy of the Abbazia di Montecassino. During the 12 years spent working on this, a school of artistic apprentices was formed, which is still operating. The Bartolozzi e Maioli firm, in its almost 70 years of business, has undertaken projects in spaces that range from the Quirinale in Rome to the Cattedrale di Sassari, to palaces in the United Arab Emirates. During the liturgical reform, Fiorenzo Bartolozzi and Giuseppe Maioli, recovered many examples of wooden artefacts from the 18th century from the dismantling of various churches. This collection is still used as models when this style needs to be created, so as to avoid errors in execution. Today, the Bottega d’Arte Bartolozzi e Maioli is managed by Fiorenzo Bartolozzi’s daughter, Fiorenza. The latest important project was the restoration of two rooms of the Kremlin in Moscow, called Sant’Andrea and Sant’Alessandro.
