History

Since 1948

In 1930, Michele and Maria Boncristiani chose to move from Fucecchio to Florence to sell their products, but they had to wait until 1948 before they could open their shop.
City families greatly appreciated the good things they were offered. This forced the family to make a very important decision at the time: to move to Florence permanently, leaving home, fields, and animals to close relatives, to care for them and continue production. It was 1948, a very difficult time to think about setting up a business, but perhaps the right time to try to do so. Afterwards, they rented a small, old premises in the shadow of the Duomo, on Via dei Servi, a stone’s throw from the beautiful Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, restoring it with new life and using it as a location for displaying their products. A few generations have passed since that day, and many years have gone by, difficult years that required rolling up your sleeves: the post-war period, the flood, the “Years of Lead”, as well as wonderful years: satisfactions, bonds, sincere, decades-old friendships testifying to the nature of the city, the heart that made it famous.
