History
Since 1928
In 1954, Fabio Bucciarelli established a workshop for restoring and imitating antique frames. Massimiliano Sernissi worked there as an apprentice and at the beginning of the 1980s, after the death of the owner, he took over the management. Massimiliano, nicknamed “Leone” for his bold, proud character, has practised the profession of restorer of frames, aediculae, and tabernacles, as well as of gold backgrounds in paintings, with passion and skill.
And he has done so with the collaboration of his daughters Simona and Valentina who took over the business in 2008. In Leone’s workshop, which is highly regarded and sought-after overseas as well, they make frames in the style of all ages: over the years, they have created works for some of the most important museums in the world, framing, among other things, paintings by Pollock and Morandi.
