History
Since 1914
Caffè Dogali was founded by a family of restaurateurs who, since 1914, have attracted both young and old with quick meals, but especially with collective afternoon snacks and aperitifs. The café is located in Campo di Marte, near the large sports facilities, in one of Florence’s green corners. The business is now in its third generation, with Alessandro Pamploni taking over from his father and grandfather, who founded it in 1914.
As a historical and bibliographical curiosity, it’s worth noting that this establishment is mentioned by Giulio Gandi in “Antiche e caratteristiche trattorie Fiorentine,” a book from the 1920s, reprinted in anastatic edition in 1986 by the Salimbeni publisher.
