History
Since 29 Marzo 1962
In 1962, Loretta Paolini and Sestilio Fantappiè, a young couple in their early twenties, purchased a small stationery shop specializing in office supplies, toys, and books. They named the business “Lory” in honor of Mrs. Fantappiè. In 1966, following the devastating flood of November 4, the shop suffered severe damage, which was repaired over the following year thanks to the owners’ efforts, allowing the business to fully recover. Between the 1970s and 1980s, they obtained a copying license and introduced a mimeograph—a small printing machine. During the 1980s and 1990s, the store expanded by acquiring adjacent spaces, and a selection of painting supplies was added. In 2000, an additional room was built at the back of the shop, becoming the Lory Copystore, a new digital printing center. Today, Cartoleria Lory covers over 480 square meters, employs seven staff members, and has three partners. Its services range from selling stationery and fine art supplies (also online) to high-quality printing and Digital Fine Art, specifically tailored for photographers.
