The business Corniceria Artigiana Fanelli was opened by Nara Calvani in Piazza Acciaiuoli in the early 1970s. Nara followed in the footsteps of her father Mario, who was a cabinetmaker and restored furniture since the 1930s-1940s, and who worked at Corniceria Mazzoni in central Florence between the 1950s and 1960s. The business was managed by the Fanelli family over the years until it was taken over by Nara’s grandson, Bernardo, who changed the name in 1991. The shop specializes in the production, processing, restoration, and sale of frames, wooden objects, ornamental items, and furnishings.
