History
Since 1898
The Corsani shop was founded in 1898 on Via Calzaiuoli, at the address it still holds today, just a step away from Piazza Signoria. The business was started by Carlo Corsani, an excellent engraver and chaser, who in the workshop located on the mezzanine above the shop, taught the trade to young artisans. After his death in 1945, the shop passed to his wife Irma de Vincenzi, then to his daughter Iria, and eventually to his granddaughter Carla, born on the same day as her grandfather’s death. For several years, Roberto, Carla’s husband, has dedicated himself to the shop, supported by their children Monica, Edoardo, and Valentina. Since 1898, the items sold have changed, but it has always been known as “the Souvenir de Florence shop.”
