When you trace the origins of this business, it turns out to be a rare example of a trade handed down from master to pupil, as happened in the past in the ancient Florentine artisan workshops. From Giovanni Stanghi, known as Leprino, the business passed, at the end of the last century, to his pupil Emilio Ercolani, and then to the pupil of the latter, Vasco Cappuccini, who in 1925 opened this artisan workshop, the furnishings of which are still the original ones. Since 1946, Lamberto Banchi, in turn the only pupil of Cappuccini, has specialised in artistic reproductions, bronzes for furniture and doors, wall sconces, door knockers, and, in particular, photo frames in different shapes and styles: rectangular, oval, Empire, neoclassical, Louis XV or XVI, and creations mainly intended for the foreign market. The business is currently managed by Duccio Banchi who trained in his father’s workshop and specialised in chiselling at the school of Giorgio Piazzini and the illustrious artist Bino Bini.
