History
Since 1911, 26 maggio
The Gremoni Herbalist Shop began with the trade of plants and spices in 1716. It gained fame throughout the 19th century, with its headquarters located in the historic Borgo Ognissanti. In 1911, it moved to the heart of Florence, to Via Faenza 101/R, near the Santa Maria Novella station, where it continued its activity, passed down from father to son and grandson, up to the present day, always in the same location. The post-war years were very tough, but the dedication and skill of Vittorio and Ernesta Gremoni made the Herbalist Shop a landmark in Florence. In 1966, the terrible flood destroyed the shop, but the perseverance and determination of Vittorio and Leda Gremoni, just a few years after the death of Aunt Ernesta, allowed the shop to recover and resume business, quickly becoming “The Herbalist Shop of Florence” again. The Herbalist Shop has always been run by the Gremoni family, who have passed down their traditional knowledge and expertise from generation to generation, and today, the Gremoni Herbalist Shop proudly boasts excellent expertise and the historical legacy of its activity and the building it has inhabited for centuries.
