In 1897, the German pharmacist Münstermann opened his own business that was the first to introduce homeopathic treatment to Florence. The business was successful and, in 1908, the pharmacy moved into the building in Piazza Goldoni, taking the name of Farmacia Anglo-Americana, which it kept until 1935. The original 19th century furnishings have been fully preserved, despite the alterations that became necessary in the first decades of the 20th century when the building was modified to facilitate the layout of the new tramway line. Serious damage was also inflicted by the 1966 flood. Despite this, the whole preserves its original character, which complements the pharmaceutical and cosmetic products based on the old artisanal recipes.
