Hotel Helvetia Bristol

District

Piazza della Repubblica

History

Since 1894

The Hotel was founded on June 28, 1883, after the redevelopment of the ghetto area by Giacomo Mosca, and has always belonged to the family, originally from Rhaeto-Romanic Switzerland. The palace is on Via degli Strozzi with the entrance on Via dei Pescioni. Situated in the historic centre of Florence, between Piazza della Repubblica and Via Tornabuoni, a stone’s throw from the Duomo, Hotel Helvetia & Bristol became a meeting point in the early years of the century for the cultural figures of the time who frequented the hotel’s “Winter Garden”.
