Since 1950
Intertravel was founded in Florence in 1950 as a retail travel agency. The first office opened on Via Lambertesca, and after a few years, the need arose to move to a larger and more spacious office. The flood of November 4, 1966, forced the original owners to relocate the agency to its current location on Via De Lamberti. Initially, the agency focused on retail travel sales, as well as air and train ticketing.
In 1965, the company was acquired, and the ownership, which still stands today, passed into the hands of Maria Grazia Guidali. In the early 1970s, Mrs. Guidali recognized the need to refresh the agency in order to better compete in the emerging market, noting the limitations of its current location. As a result, it was decided to start operating as an Incoming Tour Operator.
Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Intertravel continued to expand across all sectors of the tourism market. In the early 2010s, management and direction passed from Mrs. Guidali to her son Luca Arioli.
