Angiolino Vermigli, a shop assistant, took over the business from Maria Marcucci, who had already been running it for several years, in 1912. The shop was then located on Via della Spada and was run by Angiolino’s sons until 1991, when the current owners took over. For eviction reasons, the latter had to move to the premises on Via dei Federighi in 2003. The new shop was set up with care, maintaining the characteristics of the previous shop: the fruit and vegetable counter was reconstructed with the old marbles and several original pieces of furniture from the 1930s were arranged there, with a collection of everyday objects from the same period. Since the new store was much larger, a considerable wine selection and a counter for selected cheeses were added. The fruit and vegetable business, which has remained important, includes a very rich assortment of products chosen from the traditional seasonal products and the best fruits and vegetables of various origins.
