History
Since 1954
This grocery store was founded in 1922 by two brothers from Cremona (the Ghisolfi brothers), who made it famous by specialising in the sale of Parmesan cheese and butter. In 1957, the business was taken over by the Quercioli & Palli company, which already managed an emporium on Via Aretina where it was possible to buy tobacco and basic necessities. The shop is located in a small building, which was part of the medieval complex of the Chiesa di San Remigio, dating back to the beginning of the year 1000. The interior furnishings, many of which were recovered after the 1966 flood, include marble shelves and rustic decorative articles. The Palladian floor and wrought-iron fixtures are original from the 1950s.
