San Frediano

History

Since 1941

Opened in 1941 by Emilio Malenotti, the business was passed on to his grandson Roberto Malenotti and is currently run by his sons Riccardo and Massimo. Taking advantage of their extensive knowledge of the ancient techniques of furniture production and restoration, the owners occasionally make miniature furniture using ancient and valuable materials in accordance with a centuries-old tradition. The “Piumaccio d’oro” shop also specialises in the sale of furniture and antiques, the result of the owners’ understanding of quality and authenticity that has been handed down for three generations. The Malenotti brothers specialise in the restoration of inlaid, “lastronati”, and spirit-polished furniture. These ancient production techniques have meant that, as well as being traditional restorers, the brothers have also become producers of unique models of ancient furniture that are as extraordinary as they are unusual. These small masterpieces sum up centuries of artisan tradition and creativity. The Piumaccio d’Oro workshop also sells furniture and antiques.
