Since 1971
Pizzeria Spera was founded in 1971 by boxer Salvatore Spera as a rotisserie, fry shop, and pizzeria specializing in “thick-crust pizza.” It became a hot-food eatery in the 1980s. The restaurant spans two floors, featuring an open kitchen, 1980s-style furnishings, and pink-tiled walls. In the 2000s, Salvatore was joined by his children, Gianni and Elena, the latter winning the Pizza World Championship in 2002. After the founder’s passing in 2019, the siblings took over the business, which continues to maintain its reputation to this day.
