History
Since 1925
Founded in 1925, this store for fine art objects has always been run by the Rigacci family. At one time, when canvases for painting and colours were prepared by hand, there was also a workshop in a corner. Of this workshop, there remains a guillotine dating back to the end of the nineteenth century that is still used to cut paper and cardboard to the size customers wish. The lintel that divides the more modern part of the shop from the back is decorated on both sides. On the front, you can admire paintings by Bausi, Landi, Bartolini, and Annigoni; on the back of the architrave, there are the works by Berti, Nuti, and Monnini and Brunetti – artists who, from 1947 to 1950, created a manifesto on the Florentine artistic movement “Classical Abstraction” right here.
