Ristorante Giannino in San Lorenzo

History

Since 1936

This business opened at the beginning of last century as a simple rotisserie, founded by Giovanni Mazzi (called Giannino). Over time, the latter expanded his business until it turning it into a real restaurant.
At the end of the fifties, the restaurant became famous overseas, when, on a special occasion, its manager presented the best traditional Tuscan dishes in London. Two coats of arms are still on display in the restaurant as evidence of that event. The current owner, Riccardo Bartoloni, has taken care of the restoration of the premises restoring the original look of a merchant loggia with a vaulted ceiling and furnishing it with valuable objects.
