Piazza della Repubblica

History

Since 1872

The business’s beginning, dating back to 1872, can be traced to the completion of the work on Palazzo Lavison, which was built in a neo-fourteenth-century style by Giuseppe Landi and completed the previous year. The palace was erected on the site of the fourteenth-century church of Santa Cecilia and the Loggia dei Pisani and has, since its opening, housed the first city shop open to the public with its own chocolate production and sale. Over the years, Rivoire thus became a mainstay for the citizens who, as the decades passed, could always count on the tradition and professionalism of Florence’s most famous chocolate shop.
