History
Since 1904
The Saporetti e Cappelli shop sells musical instruments in the historic city centre. Saporetti e Cappelli was founded in 1904 by Guglielmo Saporetti and Guido Cappelli. Founded as an artisanal enterprise, especially in the repair of wind instruments, it has distinguished itself as a publishing house in the publication of marches for medium and large bands, and in the publication of methods and scores for wind instruments, as well as Tuscan musical comedies including “Il gatto in cantina” and “Giocondo Zappaterra”. In the ’30s – ’40s, it successfully participated in several craft exhibitions, becoming one of the most important and famous Italian companies in the music sector. In the ’60s – ’70s, thanks to the far-sighted Enzo Cappelli, Guido’s successor in the business, it established itself as an Italian company importing and representing famous brands, such as Gretch (drums and guitars made in the U.S.A), Guild (guitars made in the U.S.A), Roger’s (drums), Dixon and Sunshine (drums made in Taiwan), and Tatay (Spanish guitars).
