Fuori le Mura

History

Since 1909

The commercial activity was started in 1909 by Dante Bruschi, in the current location on Via Reginaldo Giuliani, at the point where the street extends between the houses to form the small square of Sodo. The tobacconist, located on the ground floor of an 19th-century building, has recently regained its original appearance, with the restoration of the old stone portal and the wooden beams in the back room. Back then, the shop sold not only tobacco but also bread, cold cuts, and wine bottles, as well as miscellaneous items and hardware, adapting to the small residential context. Later, during the interwar period, as needs changed, other stores were opened, and Dante’s son Ferrero decided to focus on the bar and tobacconist business, adding a billiard room. Today, the tobacconist also functions as a lottery ticket seller and trades in grocery, stationery, and wine products. The business is now run by Tiziano, the great-grandson, who continues the activity after 100 years, with the strong possibility of renewal into the fifth generation, given the enthusiasm of young Simone, who promises to carry on the family tradition.
