History

Since 1921

The Petrarchi family’s passion for craftsmanship dates back to 1921 when Bruno Petrarchi opened a typical workshop in the Oltrarno district of Florence, together with other artisans. His son Silvano followed in his father’s footsteps and, in 1965, decided to continue on his own by opening the current “Tappezzeria Petrarchi,” where today his son Alessio continues the family tradition with passion and dedication. Specializing in the restoration of antique furniture of high historical and artistic value, the third generation expanded the business to include modern furnishings, making it a destination for collectors and enthusiasts over the years. Thanks to the experience gained over time and the collaboration with specialized craftsmen from the neighborhood (gilders, carpenters, and restorers), it is possible to create custom-made objects and furniture, allowing clients to choose both the model and the fabric or leather upholstery.
