History

Since 1965

Otello Lascialfari started working at a historic print shop in the heart of Florence when he was very young. In 1964, married with two young children, he decided to take the “next big step” and bought a space along with the machines to establish his own printing business. This is how Tipografia Lascialfari was born. In November 1966, the devastating flood that hit Florence submerged many parts of the city, and Tipografia Lascialfari, with all its new machinery, was covered by nearly two meters of water and mud. Many felt hopeless, and the prospect of recovery seemed far off. However, Otello, with determination and stubbornness, managed to bring his “own” print shop back to life. In October 2018, Mayor Dario Nardella awarded Otello Lascialfari a commemorative plaque for his 70 years of artisan work in the historic center of Florence.
