“Armando” is the name of the grandfather who started the business in 1957 as a simple wine shop, where a glass of Chianti was accompanied by crostini with liver and spleen, along with a few other simple dishes. Over time, at the insistence of loyal customers, the menu was expanded while always maintaining a strong emphasis on the authentic Tuscan flavors in the food. The trattoria gradually became a landmark for both Florentine locals and visitors, cherished by those who appreciate good food and live music (as it is located near the Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino). It was frequently visited by notable figures from the world of entertainment and politics, who have honored the restaurant with photos and dedications of historical significance, which are proudly displayed in the dining room, forming an integral part of the restaurant’s charm.
