History
Since fino '800
Trattoria Palle d’Oro traces its historical origins back to the end of the 19th century, between 1860 and 1870, when the family’s great-grandfather decided to open the business. At the beginning the shop was located under the arch of San Pierino and the business consisted of a wine bar. Subsequently, with the acquisition of the premises on via Sant’Antonio, where the trattoria is currently located, the business was expanded to serve hot dishes as well.
The passion and the Florentine cooking tradition passed down in the family, from the great-grandfather to the current managers of the fourth generation, make Trattoria Palle d’Oro a unique and characteristic historic place, where you can taste the typical specialties of Tuscan cooking prepared according to the recipes of the past. In the year of the tragic Florence flood, the business suffered a lot of damage but in a few days, with great strength of spirit, the trattoria was able to reopen. The many guests and loyal customers often include actors, singers, directors, intellectuals who come from all over the world to enjoy the taste of local tradition.
