District

San Frediano

History

Since 1 settembre 1950

It was 1950, when the brothers Bruno and Silvano Cambi decided to open the Fiaschetteria, a small business in the heart of the San Frediano district. It was the first years after the Second World War and the inhabitants of the neighbourhood were trying to get by. Many curious, popular characters stopped at the Fiaschetteria to refresh themselves and drink wine in company. Among the customers who enlivened the place were silversmiths, decorators, framers, restorers, coachmen, ragmen, ferrous metal salvagers, blacksmiths and craftsmen of all kinds. In 1987, the management of the restaurant passed to the children of Bruno and Silvano: Stefano and Fabio Cambi, who expanded the premises by renovating the adjacent spaces while maintaining the historic brick vaults of 1700. After this renovation, the Fiaschetteria became the trattoria of the “Antico Ristoro di Cambi”.
