History

Since 1918

In 1918, Ubaldo Baldini founded the bronze work company that still bears his name today. Ubaldo, a highly skilled craftsman, nurtured a genuine passion for antiques. He then began to collect bronze objects that over time formed an important collection, one of the most interesting of its kind. He kept the model of each copied or repaired piece that was supplied to him by his clientele of nobles, antiques dealers, and collectors and created elegant blue velvet display cases that can still be seen in the shop. In 1950, Ubaldo died and his daughter Wilma continued the collection. Today the Baldini Company, with the contribution of the new partners, manages a “treasury” of many thousands of knobs, handles, keyhole covers, escutcheons, bolt anchors, friezes, and decorations in all styles from Neoclassical to Directory, from Empire to Liberty. The models that make up the collection have been reordered and catalogued and constitute valuable research materials for scholars of applied arts.
