Fuori le Mura

History

Since 1933

The business was started in 1933 by Riccardo’s grandfather, Alfredo, who married a woman from a family of pastry chefs and decided to open a pastry shop at Porta Romana, outside the city walls, during a time when there was practically nothing around. It was an era when having a brioche might have seemed like an incredible luxury, and people would almost look at the polished counter with awe. The business was later passed on to his son Rolando and his wife, who helped the activity take off. Thanks to innovative products, such as the famous Iris Cake, a flourless cake chosen by Prada to accompany its fragrance, which was shipped all over the world.
