Fuori le Mura

History

Since 1940

The trattoria began its activity, which involved the sale of typical food products and wines, before 1940 in a late 19th-century building located near the old bridge over the Mugnone, at Via del Barco No. 2/r. The establishment, under the guidance of Giuseppe Moschini, continued its operations during World War II, despite the bombings that affected many surrounding buildings.

After the war, the management of the business passed to Alfredo Rensi, who, along with his children Lidia and Damasco, continued to uphold the tradition of the restaurant, known for its typical Florentine cuisine, especially the famous steak. It was during this time that the name of the restaurant changed from “Boba” to “Damasco.”

In April 2009, the trattoria moved to the same street at No. 13/r, and it is currently the only restaurant in the area of the Cascine racetrack, where it has always served those who, for work or passion, frequent the equestrian world, as well as those working in the Via Baracca area.
