Fuori le Mura

History

Since 1940

Located in a building dating back to the end of 1700, the business was born in the late 1800s as a bread bakery. At the beginning of the 20th century the business was expanded to sell groceries, in addition to the bakery. In 1943 the shop was bought by Omero Attucci, who decided to expand the business by putting two or three tables in the free space of the grocer to serve hot dishes. Given the growing demand, Omero later set the venue up as a real restaurant. When Omero died, his brother Armeno took over the running of the restaurant. Since January 1979, the restaurant has been run by Rosanna Soldani and Roberto Viviani, who were joined by Rosanna’s cousin, Carlo Soldani, in 1992. The restaurant, which was renovated during the nineties, has preserved, even today, the grocery store that has the same hours as the restaurant. The terrace, where you can dine enjoying a breath-taking view on summer evenings, is wonderful. The specialities of this restaurant are sliced meats, penne strascicate, fried chicken and rabbit, and grilled “pollo schiacciato”.
